ATTACK OF THE HOLLYWOOD BLONDES: PART 1

It’s been an interesting week for Hollywood blondes (natural or otherwise). Paris Hilton managed to prove that she is not just a pretty face by forgetting the name of her own video game. Wearing a green mini dress she made an appearance in Los Angeles to launch her latest offering, Paris Hilton’s Jewel Jam, and then blurted out, “I’m really excited to have my new video game, Diamondquest. Huh?

ATTACK OF THE HOLLYWOOD BLONDES: PART 2

Ashlee Simpson meanwhile has been having fun with rumours that she’s had a nose job. Upping the sibling rivalry stakes, word is that she’s had her famous “bump” removed from her nose. It’s actually hard to tell conclusively from pictures, but there does appear to be a difference. when asked by reporters she just giggled and said, “Maybe – who knows!”

ATTACK OF THE HOLLYWOOD BLONDES: PART 3

Ashlee’s older sister Jessica Simpson also had a “blonde moment” this week when she almost stuck her petrified pet dog, Daisy, into the x-ray machine at Los Angeles’s LAX airport. Fortunately she realised what she was doing just in time. No, dogs are not the new handbags. A relieved Daisy and Jessica then successfully jetted off safely to New York.

TOM CRUISE: MISSION UNPOPULAR

Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible III opened last week with a bang around the world, but while still a hit, was considered to be a box-office disappointment in the United States. The movie earned considerably less than the previous Mission movies. Now the media is out to blame Cruise for the film’s underwhelming performance. People are asking if Tom’s carefully planned publicity campaign… uhh…. birth of an offspring… didn’t lead to extreme overexposure. Add that to his Scientology rantings and the question on everyone’s lips is; are people sick of Tom Cruise? A recent survey in the U.S. found that 51 percent of adults (and especially women) had an unfavourable opinion of him. The results of a previous 2005 poll reflect the change in opinion, showing that, last year, 58 percent had a favourable opinion of the star. Shame, perhaps he should keep his couch-jumping antics at home. At least, according to a recent interview, he still has the love of his ex wife Nicole Kidman, who confirmed that yes, “I still love him”.

THE HOFF NOT ENOUGH OF A KNIGHT

We knew it was really just a matter of time didn’t we? Well, it’s official, the popular 80’s TV series, Knight Rider is set to make its big screen debut soon. Some of us may have fond memories of perving over the then gorgeous looking David Hasselhoff saving day with his annoying talking robotic car, KITT. Okay, today we’re horrified by the bad hair and awful acting, but there’s still a soft spot for that theme music and David’s chest hair. Unfortunately – or is that fortunately – after working for years with series creator, Glen A. Larson, to get the film of the ground, the Hoff will not be returning as Michael Knight. Perhaps he’s just to busy with his messy divorce from actress Pamela Bach. No word yet on who the new ‘knight in shining car’ will be.

MADONNA LOVES HORSES (DUHH)

In rehearsals for her new Confessions tour, which kicks off later this month in the US, Madonna has shown off the inspiration behind some of the costumes – most designed by Jean Paul Gaultier – which she will use in the show. In an astonishing 58 page exclusive moody photo shoot for W magazine, by photographer Steven Klein, she pays tribute to the horsy set. The look is all about equestrian gothic. The stunning images show Madge with riding crops and wild horses in and out the stable. Not the most original theme in the world, but gorgeously executed! We (at least those that will make it overseas) can’t wait to see the show!

ROBBIE TARGET GAY FANS

Those who were disappointed that Robbie was so bloody heterosexual at his recent South African concerts – with not even a shout out to his gay fans – may be pleased to learn that the crooner is apparently planning on releasing a dance album, targeted at his gay fans. According to reports, Robbie is following in Madonna’s footsteps and is working in studio with the grandfathers of dance pop the Pet Shop Boys and William Orbit. There have also been conflicting rumours about Robbie and the reunion by his former band Take That. The latest rumours are that he and the band met for the first time in almost 11 years as a group this week. It was apparently an emotional gathering. Bless. The band members are still trying to convince Robbie to appear with them at one of their reunion concerts.
