There are plans afoot to feature two of Hollywood’s hottest male stars in gay themed movies.

In an interview with CinemaBlend, director Paul Feig (The Heat, Bridesmaids) revealed that he’s developing a gay romantic comedy and would like to have Channing Tatum star in it.

The story, which “will turn the genre on its head,” would revolve around a “normal” gay guy who becomes involved with an incredibly hot man but then struggles to deal with the consequences.

At this point Tatum (33), who was named the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine in 2012, is not officially involved with the project, but with luck Feig will convince him to sign on.

In another recent interview, acclaimed openly gay director Lee Daniels (Precious, The Butler) said that he’s working on a gay “interracial love affair action movie”.

He told Out magazine that it would be along the lines of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith, but [with] the two good-looking guys as the action heroes.” The twist, he said, is that “we don’t find out they’re gay until the end of the movie”.

He added that “Alex Pettyfer is in it, [but] I have to find the right black guy opposite him. He’s so hot, isn’t he? So hot. And so aware of his hotness in a way that’s so…I love him to death.”

The 23-year-old English born Pettyfer, who ironically starred in Magic Mike with Tatum, recently appeared in Daniels’ The Butler and is on the fast track to become a major star in Hollywood.

Whether either of these films actually get off the ground remains to be seen, but we can dream can’t we?
