IS THIS THE NEW QUEER AS FOLK?

Advertorial

looking_gay_HBO_series_teaser_releasedA teaser trailer for a new American gay-themed TV series titled Looking has been released, and it’s certainly got us… erm… looking.

While the trailer doesn’t reveal much of the plot it hints at its handsome cast and the tone of the series.

The show is described as a comedy-drama about a group of gay friends living in San Francisco.

It’s executive produced by David Marshall Grant, Sarah Condon, and Andrew Haigh and is set to premiere in the US in January.

The cast includes Jonathan Groff as Patrick, a gay man with a successful career as a video-game developer; Frankie J. Alvarez as Agustín, an artist’s assistant and Patrick’s best friend; and Murray Bartlett as Dom.

Guest stars include Scott Bakula as Lynn, an entrepreneur, and Russell Tovey as Kevin, a “video game wunderkind” who works with Patrick.

Two of the actors, Groff and Tovey, are openly gay, as are executive producer and director Haigh and creator Michael Lannan.

Looking will be broadcast on the HBO channel which is known for its adult-orientated shows.

No word yet on if and when it will come to South African television.
