2ND PRETORIA PRIDE CONFIRMED FOR OCT

Advertorial

second_pretoria_pride_set_for_4_october_2014The second Pretoria Pride Festival and Parade has been confirmed for Saturday 4 October, and will take place at the Centurion Rugby Club.

The 2014 theme is “In The Service Of Love”. The Pretoria Pride Board said that the theme is relevant to “not only the LGBTI community, but to every human being constantly suffering at the hand of hate.”

Organisers this year expect 10 000 festival goers to fill up the venue to welcome British 80s pop icon Hazell Dean, and other local acts like DJ Mark Stent, Jacques Terre’Blanche and Bronz on stage.

Pride MCs Morne JK and Koyo Bala will keep patrons informed of the day’s proceedings. The event will also include a flea market area, a kiddies play park, and food stalls.

The parade will start in West Avenue at 12pm, and will feed down into Lenchen Avenue South, right into South Street, right into Johan Heyns Drive and back into West. (See map below)

With the Centurion Rugby Club being a mere 200m walk from the Centurion Gautrain Station and with loads of parking around The Super Sport Park, attendees have one less thing to worry about on the day.

“We are very hard at work, building up the Pretoria Pride Brand in an effort to give people of all persuasions a day where they can celebrate who they are without being judged,” said Pretoria Pride Board Member Bruce Walker.

Confirmed sponsors for the event so far include the TriArc Group and the Tshwane Municipality. VIP club house tickets on sale now from brucewalker@iburst.co.za or at Babylon the club.
