cape_town_tourism_targets_local_gay_touristsCape Town Tourism is promoting pink events and venues this month as part of its Hello Weekend campaign for local tourists.

Hello Weekend is an online diary that helps South African visitors decide what to do with a weekend in Cape Town. The weekends come with excellent package deals that include flights, accommodation and car hire.

“For visitors who are out and proud, and looking for a city that embraces this freedom, Cape Town is where it’s at for a weekend of ‘fabulous’,” said the tourism authority in a press release.

Starting at R3 624 (ex VAT, per person sharing) the Out in Cape Town weekend is highlighted in the diary for 17 to 19 July but can be enjoyed at any time until end of July 2015.

It includes return economy class flights to Cape Town from Port Elizabeth, Johannesburg or Durban (incl. airline levy), two days Avis car rental and two to three night’s accommodation.

“Hang out in the unofficial Pink District; De Waterkant – where you can feast on fine food, socialise over drinks, dance the night away or catch a sizzling drag show,” said Cape Town Tourism.

“Balance the urban adventure with some leisure time in the Winelands and soak up a soothing massage at one of the many world class spas.”
