Did LA father shoot his son to death for being gay?

It’s believed that a Los Angeles man has shot his son dead because of his sexuality.

Shehada Khalil Issa, 69, has been charged with the murder of his 29-year-old son Amir Issa in a bizarre horror family killing last Tuesday.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, the younger man was shot in the stomach and face with a shotgun outside the family home, with the authorities appearing to view the attack as a hate crime.

“The murder was committed because of the victim’s sexual orientation and because of the defendant’s perception of that status and the victims’ association with a person and a group of that status,” said officials in a statement.

The body of the man’s mother was also found in the house. It remain unclear how she was killed but police said that she was stabbed and had been dead for some time.

It’s emerged that police had earlier intervened in the father’s attempts to evict his son from the house, which the parents intended to sell, reported the Los Angeles Times.

The older man has claimed that his son was armed with a knife at the time of the murder, but none was found at the crime scene. He also said that his son was struggling with drug abuse and mental illness.

Just ten days before the murder, Issa wrote on Facebook that his life at home was a “living hell”.

“Every day I wake up feeling like my sister or brother or mother or father is literally controlling me in my sleep. I have no free will,” he said.
