Manila Von Teez

Manila Von Teez, one of Cape Town’s top drag artists, brought the house down on Sunday night’s episode of SA’s Got Talent.

The cabaret star (created by 26-year-old Veon Wentzel in 2011) appeared on the stage with an unusual dress that surprised the audience when it “came alive”.

The dynamic performance by Von Teez and two dancers, to the sounds of Sax by Fleur East, soon had the crowd on their feet and cheering while the judges grinned with joy.

It all ended with a triumphant standing ovation from the audience and three yeses from the judges, which means that Von Teez is now a top 21 semi-finalist in the e.tv. talent show.

Von Teez has previously won pageant titles such as Miss Black Pride, Miss Cape Town Pride, Miss Cape Peninsula and Miss Loerie. She performs regularity at the Zer021 club and at other events and parties in the Mother City.

It seems that her career is definitely on the rise! Von Teez recently made a splash with her appearance in the music video for The Kiffness track You Say You Love Me, which honoured SA’s LGBTI community and the victims of the Orlando massacre.
