Meet Samantha's new toyboy

Kim Cattrall's Samantha Jones has a new toy boy in the upcoming second Sex and the City feature film. (Why are we not surprised?) The new man in the character’s life – although we're not sure how serious their relationship is – is played by American model Noah mills. It's the 26 year old's feature film debut after appearing in campaigns for the likes of John Galliano, Tom Ford and Dolce & Gabbana."It's my first film, and there was a lot to prove. Every day was like, 'I belong here!'" said the rather tasty Noah. On his co-star Kim Cattrall, he commented that she insisted on staying on to watch him shoot scenes in which she was no longer needed: "She’s really intelligent and really there to work." With him around, we bet she is! The hunk has already landed a role in another movie. Meanwhile, claims that the cast of Sex and the City were already shooting the third film have been refuted. It had been reported that, due to the inevitable ravages of time on the middle-aged stars, producers thought it a good idea to shoot both films one after the other. Makes sense to us, but the claims have now been denied by the studio behind the films. Sex and the City 2 is set to be released in South Africa in May.

The end of Ugly Betty

You may have heard that Ugly Betty has been cancelled due to falling ratings in the US. Thankfully, producers have been given time to wrap up the storyline in a final, slightly shorter, season instead of the show being yanked off air in mid-flight. We've got the scoop on upcoming developments, but stop reading now if you don't want to know any spoilers! Betty, who has slowly but surely been getting less and less "ugly" as the show has progressed will finally lose her braces. It's also been reported that Betty could change jobs and there will be a wedding in the final episode, although it may not be Betty's; who could well end the series single and fancy-free. Finally, it seems that questions about her nephew Justin's sexuality will finally be answered - and yes, the character will come out as gay before the series ends. Yay! We stopped watching Ugly Betty some time ago here at Mamba Mansions - despite its gay friendly storylines - but, we might just tune in for the final season to bid our homely Latina a fond farewell.

Top model's oral sex bribe

Sometimes, no matter how gorgeous you are, you just cannot get away with it. According to The Smoking Gun website, that's the case with model Nick Snider, known for his Prada campaign and said by Forbes to have been the fifth most successful male model in the world in 2008. The 21 year old blonde pretty boy was recently caught drunk driving in Arkansas (what the hell was he doing in Arkansas anyway?). Nick at first resorted to trying to impress officers in a bid to get off a DUI rap, telling them "I am a very famous model". When that didn't work, he then offered certain tempting favours in return for being let go. According to Deputy Brian Luetschwager, "Mr. Snider stated to me, 'If you stop I'll suck your dick and balls if you let me go." (We don't know what Deputy Luetschwager looks like so we don't know how truly desperate Nick was.) He was later released on bail after pleading not guilty to an additional charge of "illegally attempting to influence a public servant" and will appear in court on February 17 (which may conflict with his bookings for NY Fashion Week - oops!). And here we though traffic cop bribery was a uniquely South African pastime...

Springbok player is Cosmo's sexiest man

Blue Bulls and Springbok centre Wynand Olivier was announced as Cosmopolitan magazine's sexiest man of 2010 at a bash last week at The Venue in Melrose Arch in Joburg. The blonde rugby star was voted by readers as the hottest man out of the pack of 13 to have appeared in the mag's most recent annual Sexiest SA Men Calendar. It seems the girls who read Cosmo have a thing for that 80's Chippendales' look... Wynand walked away with R10 000 cash and R10 000 worth of Diesel clothing vouchers. Nice! "There's no disputing that Wynand's smile and deadly dimples sealed the deal," said Cosmo's assistant editor Cathy Lund. Cape Town model Bryce Thompson came second in the poll and All Access presenter Ewan Strydom was placed third.

Local gossip blogger gets sued

It's not easy reporting on the shenanigans of the rich and famous. Local gossip-blogger Mika Stefano is in the celeb-poo. He's apparently being sued by actress and businesswoman Uyanda Mbuli, the co-owner of the Diamond Face Couture label. It seems that Uyanda had been squabbling with business partner Gert Coetzee who started his own label on the side. Mika reported on the matter and said that he was happy that Gert “had broken free from that dragon”. Well ‘Miss Thang’ wasn't too happy about that and promptly instructed her lawyers to sue the blogger for defamation, according to The Sowetan. However, Mika told Mambaonline that he hadn't been served with any legal papers yet. “I'm not fazed," he said, "I don't take it seriously at all. She was just trying to frighten me". Gert has subsequently told The Times that he and Uyanda are still partners in Diamond Face and are sorting things out between them.

Pink talks about her head-spinning performance

If you watched last weekend's Grammy Awards, you can't not have been impressed by Pink's spectacular and dangerous near-naked aerial performance. The toned-looking openly-bisexual singer dangled and spun precariously high up in the air above the audience with no safety net or harness. And she sang through it all beautifully and completely live! "I would say that no one ever has another excuse to lip sync," she quipped afterwards - and we couldn’t agree more. She also revealed that at one point she was a little concerned for her safety. "When I do it [on tour], I don't have lights above me. Tonight, there were lights above me, so it almost went into a strobe thing, and I actually did get a little turned around. I thought... I was going to fall on my nude butt," she said. Pink added, that she was looking forward to going home to "cook and get fat".
