WILL ADAM LAMBERT BE NEXT IDOLS JUDGE?
Mon, 9 July 2012There are rumours that openly-gay singer Adam Lambert (30) is in negotiations to become a judge on the ailing American Idol talent show.
Producers of the competition, who are now planning its 12th season, have been concerned that the show has been slowly slipping in the ratings.
Lambert, who was the runner-up in season eight of American Idol, would add new blood to the judging panel.
"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," a source told E! News.
"He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him."
According to reports, current judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler have not signed contracts for the next season and producers may well let them go.
It is also believed that Jennifer Lopez is not keen to return to the judging panel.
Lambert recently made music history by becoming the first openly-gay artist to reach the No. 1 spot on America's Billboard album chart with his new album Trespassing.
