Wed, 1 August 2012Cher, who many assumed had retired from the music world, has announced that she is working on a new album.
The 66-year-old singer, actress and gay icon this week revealed in a number of tweets (the star’s favourite means of communicating with fans) that she is well and truly back in the studio.

"Doing Timbaland's song 2nite,its GREAT,but High! Pink's 2 Songs 2wks," she tweeted.
A previously recorded, but as yet-unreleased, duet with Lady GaGa, titled The Greatest Thing, will also be included on the album.
The singer told her fans on Twitter that she likes to record songs as quickly as possible.
"Worked HARD Last Nite ! I go in & sing for 90 min.--2 hrs.straight! Don't Like sitting down till Song is finished! Usually I can Ace 1 Song," she wrote.
"Turn back Time 90 min! I'm fast ! Many artists take a lot of time, but more time wouldnt make my vocals better," Cher added
She said she's been told to keep the titles of the new songs under wraps for now, but she did announce that the first single will be released in October with the album hitting stores close to Christmas.
This will be Cher’s 26th studio album. Her first, All I Really Want to Do, was released in 1965.
