EKHAYA GUEST HOUSE
Wed, 19 September 2012
The gay-owned Ekhaya Guest House in the seaside resort town of Ballito, on the KwaZulu Natal coast, offers great specials and hosts regular themed gay events throughout the year.
Owned by British ex-pat Richard Finch, Ekhaya is a charming home - a meld of old and new, where pieces of 19th century English furniture reside comfortably alongside distinctive Zulu and African decor.
The atmosphere created is comfortable and welcoming, with plenty of private spaces and areas to entertain.
There are two en suite double bedrooms and a third double bedroom with separate bathroom. The house boasts a large open plan lounge and a swimming pool entertainment area.
Richard also offers excellent, wide ranging buffet breakfasts to cater for all special dietary needs, and cooked breakfasts and other meals are available on request.
The always-friendly Richard says that he’s determined to offer a ‘gay haven’ in Ballito with his guest house. That means not just providing great accommodation for his guests but also hosting regular events for visitors. These include film screenings, cocktail functions and pool parties.

Ekhaya is relatively new and Richard is consistently planning and adding new enhancements to only better and grow his hospitality offerings. And, whatever you need, don’t hesitate to ask: he’s sure to do his utmost to cater to your requirements.
For the up-coming holidays, Ekhaya has a special Gay Christmas Stay Over special. You’ll get five nights accommodation over Christmas for only R3000 per double room! This includes buffet breakfasts at any time to suit, plus a special four-course celebratory Christmas dinner and Boxing Day braai.
Amazing value! Plus, the house will be decorated accordingly. Music, candlelight and good food and wine will be in abundance.
Ekhaya Guest House is only a fifteen minute drive away from King Shaka International Airport. It is a ten minute walk to the magnificent, litter-free beaches of the Dolphin Coast and to the fast developing shopping malls of Ballito.
