Wedding plans!. Yes yes..indeed it seems to be a problem.

Why don't both the fathers split the costs for everything in half. That way everything seems fair. Can't see why they didn't think of doing it to straight weddings as well.

Music. Enought with Mendholson's wedding march! You only listen to the first 3 minutes of the 12 minute tune anyways. Why not use something like Pachalbel's Canon?

Gifts. There our Tannie's got a very good point. Show me a jeweler that will sell you a his/his set for the same price as a his/hers set.

Surnames. Why stick to your born surname. Make it mutual and both change your surnames to something you both like. (your id number will remain the same though)

And instead of one walking down the isle, why not walk together? It's not like daddy is giving away his virgin son to his man in today's times.

I think taking all of that into consideration, there shouldn't be a problem getting married!

You have certainly opened a can of worms. So many questions which I think a lot of people have not thought about.

Maybe it will be best for yourself, the GLA and Emsie "etiket" Schoeman to get together and devise a manuel which will serve as a guideline or the gay weddings.

Onthou net, daar is sisters wat gr?nd is en ander wat nie is nie, so it will have to cater for people from Waterkloof to Pitfontein.

I Do. Ok first things first ? before blowing anything out of per portion for all the size queens that is, first check with home affairs if you not already married. Given that the system works on age + “Never married” you might actually have a spouse already and no sex!
My concern in the “apartheid days” I was “married” to 3 different men ? which somehow I lost along the line ? should I repeat this pattern do I keep the surnames and if so which one do I sign with. Does ABSA gonna print all to disclose my past on my cheque book (Reference checking?) and would they honour my cheques if signing a cheque on the new surname before notifying them of the new marriage. So in a tradition of “I Do” what do I do?
