Jennifer Hudson VS Beyonce. Looks like there is a new diva on the block, Jennifer Hudson really out did herself, and in my opinion is a better vocalist when it comes to the likes of both Beyonce and her girlie group - DESTINY's CHILD. Cant wait for that CD (Jennifer on the block)

I personally loved the movie as it was a simple story that was accompanied by beautiful lyrics and marvelous performances.

I agree that Eddie Murphy was amazing, and it was great to see him playing a character who had a little bit more substance, rather than Dr. Doolittle...

Jamie Foxx was weak, however i found myself hating him in the end, and i think that was because he played his part really well.

Anika Noni Rose (the third dreamgirl) was also really good, and i just wished her character wasa bigger character to play.

I also thought Keith Robinsons character should have been fleshed out, he could sing and dance and was gorgeous too. I thought his character should have been gay, but it could have the movie have to many loose ends.

Beyonce, well i kept on finding references to Miss Beyonce Knowles, a singer of an all girl group, appeals to white audiances - cross over - break into the dance music industry, going out with a music celeb, will most probebly go solo, wants to act, has her own fasion line... they should have called it BEYONCE'S DREAMS... however i was so happy that the story revolved around Effie (Jennifer Hudson) I am glad that B is now acting, because i cant call Pink Panther and Goldmember real acting, i can now also say that beyonce is the most beautiful woman ever...

I think the movie is also paying tribute to black musicians in the music industry... Jackson 5, Eddie Murphy - James Brown, Beyonce - Diana Ross (and in the pictures Janet Jackson from velvet rope)

I agree that it was hightened, but with a star studded cast like that i cant blame them...

But on the whole i must disagree and say that the movie is a must see... the night i went i thought it was the gay film fest because there were so many gays who had come to see DREAMGIRLS! and i think you need to see it if you have any doubt in your mind about the movie
