The fact that this hidious crime happened on 07-07-07 calls for further investigation into the link between fundamentalist religious preachers and attacks on gays. As has been proven in the USA, reactionary forces of social conservatism target gays especially, to drive an agenda that aims to restore patriarchy and overturn the modest gains of the feminist movement. Unfortunately this sick agenda is financed by big business, as this conservative movement aims also to deconstruct the distribution paradigm of state. We need to have a hate crimes law urgently. Lets take note of which political parties are opposed to such legislation: ACDP, FF+ and DA.
