Yawnfest that is the SA gay scene. I totally agree with the Sphinxter – our music in gay clubs could just as well be elevator music. Our supposedly edgy and ultra chic international standard djs – not gonna name and shame are just boring redundant clones…

Look at it, Electroclash has come and gone and the SA gay club scene barely took note. The music that gets played puts me to sleep, possibly the largest factor why I’ve stopped clubbing for the past 3 years. It’s always just a different venue same crappy music. At least the silver lining is no more venga boys circa fly…. haha

Anyways, check out other scenes – Synthpop, EBM, Electro, Hip hop. I know G.A.S.S has been experimenting a lot with different genres lately but the gay scene needs to air out the stale somnambulistic music they got now. Even if it’s just Friday nights or something… Really.

I had my birthday party at Risque on Saturday night. It was a lot of fun and we were well taken care of. The staff were very accomodating, friendly and professional. I highly recommend Risque!
