Desmond Morris's "new theory". Shoo I am personally aghast. What is he implying exactly? That gay men have failed to "evolve" or "grow up". By saying that they have "fail(ed) to undergo a social process which usually happens to other men." and that they have "got stuck" in an earlie phase of bonding, reeks of the implication that homesexuality is sexuality gone wrong and his later comments regarding how "The creative gay has very much advanced Planet Earth.” is nauseating in its stereotyping and a pathetic attempt at a patronising apology for the former allegations. Yuck! All I can say is that personally I do not see much evolution in Desmond Morris's own theories since his previous assertion (sigh and how boring and haven't we heard this all somewhere before?) that men become gay because of absent fathers.
Agrees. Marina, I have to concur honestly do they pay this man to sit around and come up with theories that a) carries very little weight. b) that is funny c) that goes from bad to worse. It is as it stated "Ongoing research appears to show that human sexuality may be influenced primarily by genetic or biological factors, rather than social or developmental factors, although these may play a part."

I had a father .. just did not like him very much and I lived in the same house as him till I was 18 so I guess that cancels out the theory of having no father figure. As far as the "growing up" I did that when I was ten...

So think Morris should do us all a favour and not come up with any more far fetched theories.
