I Empathise. This is a story that touches my heart. It could easily be about me. I am currently living in South Africa but I am Zimbabwean and I share the same history thanks to the situation in Zimbabwe. I think we should all stand togather in these counries that are opressive with the more enlightened communities from other countries. I have friends that are now openly gay in Zimbabwe, but life is living hell for them. They are struggling big time. GALZ (Gays And Lesbian of Zimbabwe) is really trying but they are only reaching a few.
I hope one day we will be able to walk and not care whether the person next to us is Gay or Straight. THere are some outreach programmes in the form of theatre and discussion forums that some NGOs are doing at the moment that teach rural and peri- urban communities about sexual orientation. And you can guess how the government is reacting to such "sacrilege".
Thank You For Your Time!
