Brave move. Politicians usually only do what will benefit them in elections, and the gay vote is hardly the most crucial. A move to push for more liberal universal human rights is very admirable.

While the concept itself is groundbreaking they will have a tough time selling it to America, most African countries and the Middle East where barbaric laws are still in place!
