Inclusive. I don”t think Pride excluded anyone. In fact, they even invited straight families and friends. Pride was white, because more white people arrived, and that is the only reason. Of course our black brothers and sisters were just as welcome. Soweto Pride is held because there are lots of people there that cannot afford to go elsewhere, and also to highlight the need there too – read the articles on this site about Soweto Pride. Please, why must we make every single thing in this country a black against white thing…

Finally we have proper organisers. Well done to every person involved in making the 19th Pride stand out and be so successful. You could see great organisation everywhere. We really really enjoyed it.

I have only a few suggestions/criticisms. Firstly, why was there not more press/photographers? We really should try to attract the media as well, best awareness there could be.
Secondly, the DJ”s were great but the entertainers were not that good. Hopefully if we can get better sponsors and better funding next time, we can attract a few better known celebrities that can show their support. We have great great artists (just look at 94.7”s joburg day) Perhaps we can get some of them as well. 5FM as usual made the day fantastic.
The food and drinks were really very reasonable – thanx, were just a bit surprised that the Play energy drinks were R20 each! You pay only R10 in the store, plus they were one of the major sponsors, what went wrong there?

But all in all it was fantastic, and I know it can only become even better from here. Keep it up, and in a few years we might be competing with San Francisco Pride or Sydney Mardi Gras…

I agree. I agree, it was fantastic, the weather, the entertainment, the people, everything was just fabulous. Hopefully we will double the amount of people who attended this year, and there was allot of people!

a Few things really stood out for me…
1) The amount of people that came from the townships, all dressed up, maybe not as expensive as the other outfits, but with just as much pride!
2) There was allot of paralyzed people, old people and children, all equipped with a gay flag, and was welcomed with a big smile!

So a big congrats to the organizers, entertainers, and most of all every LGBT person who was there!
