eBook Reader. I've owned an eBook reader for several months and I have to admit that I have hardly used it at all. I think the reason comes down to the content that is available so be careful before downloading. I've found that majority of content is self-published titles and they are horrendous, in plot and spelling / grammatical errors. Be sure to download from an established author or have a quick preview if allowed.
Sometimes there isn't much of a price difference either between eBook and a hardback / paperback, and the specials on the sites for normal books don't apply to eBooks.
And in today's eco-friendly times most books are published with paper obtained from sustainable forests or recycled paper. Just look for the FSC trademark, which is printed on the cover or on the inside of the book.
On great factor is that going on holiday with it is great as I can have ten or fifteen books with me without bulking up my luggage.
But on the whole, I'd still stick to the traditional book no matter how many fancy gadgets and gizmo's they add to the reader.

I think I might agree with you as, having specific use devices seem redundant, For example why have a garmin and a mobile when you can get a nokia navigator, on the same note, why not just use ebook reading software and read it on your PC if you don't want a paperback version?
