Such a lot to be proud of. The man is a homophobe. Just because his PR machine published a retraction doesn't mean that he doesn't feel exactly what he said in the past.

I absolutely adore living in a country with a bigoted, homophobic polygamist fraudster for a president. How very 'cultural' you are, mr President.

Someday with a bit of luck his gravestone will have an engraving of a showerhead on it. It would be an apt way to remember him.

In reply to deznorb. I can hardly classify 'the rest of them' as you put it, as the same as Zuma. Most of my black friends consider him an embarrassment. My white friends too. This is not a race thing, it is a person thing and anybody who starts labelling it under 'cultural differences' is being disingenuous.

Uganda. That is a ridculously facile comment.
Just as Zuma and the Ugandan government have generalised their prejeudice about homosexuals , you are doing the same about “the rest of them” so you are placing yourself on an intellectual par with Zuma., Many of “them” believe differenty. Do not superimpose Zuma’s lack of principle and social conservatism on other people.
The issue is we have a socially regressive government with little principle , failing to understand the constitution of this country and the responsibility it imposes on the govenment.
This is no surprise as this was obvious prior to his election The thing is what action are we taking, are we voicing our opinions and boycotting companies who are trading in Uganda , Perhaps this years Pride should forget the patying and get back to activism for the rest of Africa.

Hear hear. I feel the same way. Our government always turns a blind eye when it comes to issues that have to do with homosexuality. What can be done for our voices to be heard?
