I have seen it so many times in my life. If a person is really homophobic, 9 out of 10 times it is not because of hatred, but because of fear for their own feelings. Most homophobes react so strongly because they have probably realised that they have “gay feelings” but overreact out of fear that if they don’t someone will see right through them and discover their secret. How many times have people with a strong stance against it, been eventually caught with a rentboy or some double life.

It is sad that people like Blunt lost out on most of their lives living in denial.
