I think the objections are justified. If you were to skim only the headlines, as one does when reading newspapers, it would seem to anti-gay. If the whole quote was in quotation marks, I think it would be acceptable.

agree. I agree using it as the headline is not correct. Sure quote verbatim , but it isonly used as a headline as a means of sensationalising the case.

It is not a question of been overly senistive.
It is time we adopted more approriate language in our discussions and making imappropriate tems for racial and gender issues inappropriate in our language.
whether it is the K word , kill the boer , coconut, moffie etc etc we do not need these terms of violence and and opression in a progressive society.
Words are very powerful and can cause extreme damage and only by challenging the use of certain words, will our capacity to progress be ensured.
