While I thought this years Pride was as well organised as any other year, Indeed, i also noticed a stark absence on statements regarding issues affecting the LGBT community as mentioned in the article. This made me wonder what was the point of Pride apart from a big jol.

I'm not against the festivity but I do believe this prime platform that took a lot of effort and resources to pull off for raising and highlighting and protesting against LGBT issues was squandered.

Well done to all involved... And well done to everybody who made an effort to "come out" and support Pride. From having spoken to so many of my friends, I get the general feel that all there had an awesome Pride experience. Yes, there were and always be problems and I'm sure that next year some effort will be made to avoid these... No event of this size can be without any!

I am trying with no joy, to get a hold of the the Pride coverage that was on the news, both SABC and Etv. If anybody can help, please advise... Please Please Please...

Again, thank you everybody for having made Pride 2011 a great one!

Cheers,

M
