I still love him and I think the feeling is mutual. None of us have found a new boyfriend, although we have both dated other guys for short periods. But if he had to invite me to travel with him and a new boyfriend, I think I would come back from holiday with a green tan of jealousy. I admire your maturity in this situation, but I just cannot see myself doing that.

My husbands best buddy is also an Ex from 13 years ago. We brought these friends into our relationship 11years ago. I have no idea why anyone would find this strange. One doesn’t date someone who isn’t your best friend..or what? Of course wev’e been away together … it’s always great fun and part of the bond that we all have as friends. All parties are however in very long term stable relationships. Yes, there is one jealous insecure partner in our circle of friends… you get that everywhere.

He stayed in JB and I in Port Elizabeth, so iniitially before moving in I had to communte. What was weird was that his ex of 12 years was his next door neighbour. I was 32 and in my first relationship, so had no exes and had no terms of refererence as to how to deal with it. I trusted my BF but the ex was obviously still in love or lust. One night when we were visiting the ex noted to me that I should not be jealous and I noted that my BF was with me so what was there to be jealous about. I must admit it was difficult. Then we went to Cape Town and met the ex ex. He was such a cool oke and I could feel their bond was that of a special friendship and felt no pangs. My hubby always make a valid point when he says that should one feel insecure in the reklationship it is up to the other to ensure that they become secure. I believe wise words.
