Having said that there are distinct irregularities in what Mugabe says which need to be pointed out for the sake of justice and truth:

Firstly, everyone has a choice in all matters concerning their lives. In this instance, the context is sexual orientation – which of itself is not a choice, only the acknowledgement or not thereof is a choice. What Mugabe is not saying is there are perhaps (and often proven) dire consequences to one’s choices – choices so personal no politician or institution should have the right to dictate over.

Secondly, the institution of marriage does not bring about human existence. Procreation does. Being a Catholic, Mugabe should know the birth of Christ was that exceptional virgin birth to an unmarried mother. Therefore his argument is invalid in this case and highlights his own agenda and dissemination of a brand of propaganda which is easily dis-proven.

Lastly, it saddens me deeply that one of the Catholic faith chooses display playing God by critically judging others to the point of damnation. Again, as a Catholic Mugabe should know better and one would expect that while he may have a right to his opinions, as we all do, he would at the same time display grace and genuine leadership instead of dictatorship.
