I have an appreciation for your ending arguments about choices vs true nature and the impending future question mark with regards to it i.e. bain mapping etc.
I disagree completely with your over simplification and stereotype of a young gay mans choice toward a certain vocation unless you meant it as a metaphor!

very intereting take on this i knew from an early agethat i was “different” was gay married and my ex turned straight and is apparently married now with kids. I am content with who I am and do not wish to change

very intresting… I agree with Al about people who make being gay sound like a lifestyle. I daresay I speak for the masses when I say FUCK YOU!! Now that is off my chest… I did hear some science research say they r gonna start something like that. But the precursor of that was electro shock thearapy n we all know how that works out. That kind of DNA tampering will only breed drug dependant phycos who will still end up gay anyways… so pherhaps it’s best we don’t play God on this front.

I work in the field of neuroscience, and there is very little we understand about sexuality in general in the brain, as it is a very complex interaction involving many functional and projective areas in the brain. What is also under question in the above story, is whether the person who sufferred the stroke had not in actual fact been gay all along, and the stroke had damaged inhibitive areas in the frontal lobes (which is often the case with cerebrovascular accident). Research, at least the credible kind, as far as I’m concerned, suggests that sexuality is inherent and mostly biological. Whether a person chooses to accept or deny their sexuality, is another question altogether.
