Gay games is a crock. If you want to participate in sport, participate in sport. Why base sport on sexual orientation? I for one dont get this seperaste ( spellling!) thing!

Totally agree with you WAYNE!!! It is so strange as you or I no different to any other guy capable of playing a particular sport. That is why I generally don’t get much of the “gay thing” in life!!! I am gay and just enjoy being with other guys NOT this whole “gay thing” that is just taking over and causing so much unnecessary….

You know, regardless of what you think, the point is you shouldn’t impose your views on gay sports on others. The reality is that gay sportspeople are not free to be themselves in professional sports (that’s why almost none are out) – and amateurs are also usually not welcome as openly gay. If gay people want to get together and play sports why does that bother you? Why is that threatening or annoying? It make some people happy, gives them an outlet and affirms a positive gay identity? Amazing how homophobic so many gay people are…

The gay games sound like a great idea.
The treatment gay folk receive from various members of the community is sufficient reason to have “gay sports” for those who want to take part in them. Yes, it is dangerous in that we may be targeted more easily but people prefer being in a “safe space” where they are comfortable to be. Your teammates are over your homosexuality and they wanna get on with sport. If it bugs you – DO NOT SIGN UP.

But.. if people feel safer in thier groupings then let then group themsleves. I think this is where Gideon is coming from interms of ‘serriousness’. The whole concept of the gay games is discriminatory towards hetros! It is no different from say the Black Management’s Forum which is there to empower blacks but in a truley equal word neither of them have a place.
