So in effect you’re saying that there is a diversity of people that need to have an equal say as all their issues are equally valid. Do you think that there could ever be an event that made all the people happy? It’d be a real challenge to organise something that was truly unprejudiced (and how could we overcome that we exist in patriarchy at the end of the day, and need to co-operate with police, funders and other patriarchal intstitutions to get such a parade going)… but good luck.

I am tired of trans people who are quick to shout transphobia about anyone who questions them. Trans organisations are part of our community and they do important work but why should we as women and lesbian women have to constantly plan our activities to suit them. Why can’t we admit that women who are born women have a different experience to trans women or transmen and it is not transphobic to say so 🙁 1 in 9 are not wrong in this and if it was not for the whole Pride thing, Mambaonline would not have given this story a second glance!
