Terrible crime! We need more education in the media, especially on state TV, to break down the homphobic stereotypes that seem to flourish in dim minds! Television has great power to promote positive social change. If the government is as seriously committed to protect us, then they should use the SABC to promote the rights of LGBTI people.

I would like to see action first, before I consider this a positive step. Zuma is on record for having said publicly that he grew up in an environment where if a gay man stands in front of you, you beat him down. He has never condemned this ‘beating down’ of a gay, so why should he care now?

Our problem is that our leaders are the one who create these confusion in our community, Zuma said: Being gay is unafrican, how do you want people to respect one another when you have a stupid president talking shit….They must think before saying anything….

South Africa comes from a long way. We suffered a lot during the apartheid regime to now judging and undermining other people regardless of their sexual preferences. Just let the gay and lesbian alone. If we cannot live with them, pack your bag and go to planet mars!
