Unbelievable and shocking!!! After this ordeal- this girl should be an ambassador to Lesbians (and Gays) around the world… Again I say: refreshing to see another “normal” girl who happens to be “gay” instead of this butch or camp approach aligned with “being gay”!

This is low some people have no shame. Kaitlyin need not worry actually. with a good lawyer even a crappy she can get off. The state of Florida allows teens between 13 or14-17 (underage) to date legal persons up to the age of 25 so all Kaitlyn’s girlfriend needs to do is prove she was in total control of her faculties when she decided to date Kaitlyn. N prove that indeed everything thing was consensual which when they dated n put reasonable doubt on the parents n prove they are being homophobic which shuoldn’t too hard If she recants past conversations with them n particularly ask which what type of Church they got to cause we all know how much the Churches really go out of thier way to teach thier members to love us rite? Of course! If I were Kaitlyn I would goto trial Those of us who still believe in God n whatever else u believe in should pray for common sense and justice

Lego- I am sorry you view my thoughts this way… One thing I can definitely say is I respect the next person no matter what! As a gay man of 35 yrs old I do struggle at times with the “feminine and butch” side of the gay world BUT I accept it- I might disagree with how (much of the time) this is portrayed in society but hey one get different types of people in all religions, people etc etc. All I believe I am trying to say is that it is refreshing to see other types of people that make up the gay community and not just “feminine and butch” that media and society general push as the “norm” within gay culture. Its all about educating people and showing them that any type of person can be gay NOT only what is generally portrayed to the public. Hope this explanations helps you a little more to try to understand where I am coming from… Its a great day and I am happy and have decided to take the day off work to spend some time in nature. Good luck and really there is no need to become so defensive- it will make you age quicker *wink*

That poor girl!!! This is completely ridiculous, if they filed charges right after her 18th birthday then she was clearly a minor herself throughout the duration of the relationship! Not to mention there is only a few years between them so it hardly makes her a sex offender! I hate to say it, but you really only see this sort of thing in America, the rest of the world is more accepting of teenage relationships (gay or straight) but in America as soon as someones 18 it becomes statutory rape, I mean come on! The parents of the younger girl are clearly homophobic, they need to understand that their daughter will still be gay regardless of this one relationship and that they are ruining this poor girls life for no reason!

Ur rite Arias only in America would we see such crazy shit. This is why this case is winnable. Those parents had bn planning this for a long time. They knew full well the State of Florida couldn’t charge Kaitlyn for Statutory rape, so they went the sexual abuse angle. Arias ur spot on she was still underage when they dated and these jerk ass parents will need to alienate thier own daughter in order to keep this trail goin. They would have to help the state prove to a jury of thier peers that thier daughter is incompetent and was not responsible for her actions and that Kaitlyn took advantage of her. That in itself leaves those dick head parents exposed to charges of negligence, meaning they can have thier daughter (and any other children in thier care) taken away from them for allowing this relationship to continue know full well their daughter couldn’t make sensible decisions. The parents definitely did not think all of this through… n that daughter of thiers will probly hate them forever… in fact I do believe they have successfully strengthened the love these two share for one another.
