Methinks that is not the point.

During the Struggle, the ANC fought hard to get other nations to condemn SA’s Apartheid legislation. However, in the deeply myopic worldview that the ANC espouses, the situation in Uganda is somehow different. It’s magic!

The message here is, “We sorta pretend to care about human rights, but actually we feel that governmental sovereignty trumps them”. It’s frightening, isn’t it? It not a statement about foreign policy, it’s a statement about domestic policy!

To me it’s just another indicator of the slow descent into fascism that’s been the hallmark of African National Congress modus operandi over the last decade.
