With our current president I am not surprised by this. But with him now being “ill” I suspect that he may step down due to medical reasons instead of being recalled like Mbeki because that would be more “dignified”. Should this happen let’s see what happens.

I wonder if the reason for the delay is that other African countries’ representatives just won’t show up for such a summit. Think about it. Which African countries would, realistically speaking, participate in this summit? RSA? Maybe Mozambique. I don’t see anyone else showing up.

I personally appeal to the government of South Africa to see to it that summit happens soon due to an alarming rate of abusive and discriminatory acts against LGBTI communities in Africa, let’s set a good example in protecting human rights
