It is totally unacceptable that after 21 years of democracy that we have not seen one gay guy of colour winning this competition.

Stop silencing us when we highlight the continued hypocrisy when it comes to the LGBTI fraternity in South Africa.

Whilst we at it, we owe our rights to black gay men and women like Simon Nkoli, Tumi Mthetwa and Linda Ngcobo.

This was well deserved and the judging panel which had sufficient representation of our rainbow nation made this call and decided that this was going to be the best man for the job that lies ahead of his reign. Let’s be happy for him and the rest of the heroes who were on stage, they were all winners on the night and I must congratulate the organisers for an amazing show. If it makes you feel any better Nicholas James a gorgeous coloured girl from Eldorado park was just crowned Miss South Africa flanked by two beautiful black girls as 1st and 2nd runner up.
