Indeed as the campaign &#039;Black Lives Matter&#039; is being observed within the United States against violence and abuse of LGBTI despite marriage equality, in South Africa our lives as lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people matter.  The unresolved cases of Sizakele and Salome are a painful reminder of the rise of gender based violence and hate crimes targeted at primarily black lesbian women in our townships but the LGBTI community in its totality. The LGBT Community and Health Centre and Durban Pride will be participating in Soweto Pride to express our support and comradeship on an ongoing struggle.
