Once you start making excuses, then you endanger everyone else. I don’t honestly care what the reason was. I would prefer this thug never get out of prison, or be put to death. Violent people are a danger to everybody, and they should not be allowed free on the streets. We need to be far harsher than we are for violent behavior regardless of it it leads to death, injury, or merely frightens people.
