I am a very affectionate individual and love intimacy. I will hug and cuddle most of my friends, I am lucky enough to be open with all of them about my sexuality so even my straight guy friends know I am a hugger.

This resonates with me soooo much.
I love sex, but I have never been happier than when I could just touch him in passing in the home, while watching TV, or cooking a meal – whatever. Often just a stroke or a kiss when waking briefly in the middle of the night.
A shag is not intimacy (necessarily).
If this sounds naive, that’s OK, I’ll plead guilty.
Looking forward to the next time I find intimacy.

I’ve always suspected that on some level guys searching for sex are trying to fulfill some deeper need. This is a rather eloquent article on what that may be. I agree with the need to be touched. I think the suggested alternatives to get your touch fix are cute but I don’t buy the flushing of toxins benefit of massage. I would be surprised if a large percentage of gay men weren’t dismissive of this article.
