The National Department of Basic Education has convened a national working group on social inclusion in education focusing specifically on transgender youth and educators, and gender diversity. We discussed the need for better language /concepts for discussing these issues in the classroom and with adults in decision-making positions – government officials, principals, governing bodies, parents.
