As it is the Constitution which governs the country as a supreme and sovereign law, it trumps the Bible. But the rights need to be balanced and this is how the HRC in this agreement has done this:
“…in disseminating ones religious beliefs and opinions, and in exercising her right to freedom of expression, no-one may discriminate against or propagate hate speech toward members of the LGBTQI community…”
Unfortunately an opportunity was missed in educating the author (Gretha Wiid) about the dangerous connotations that “being different” has. In my view she should have been encouraged to avoid enforcing heteronormativity as being “normal” and gay as being “different”. Different is a place of insecurity. Your own unique personal normal is, however, very empowering!
