PrideTV Highlight: Bite Marks

Wow. Or should that be ‘Ouch!’? This alternative LGBTQI viewing feast from PrideTV really does have it all. Bite Marks convincingly straddles so many genres it’s, um, scary… Let’s explain by introducing the storyline.

Cary and Vogel are a bickering gay couple who decide to embark on an adventure of a lifetime. Unfortunately for them, their decision to cut corners on that adventure by hitchhiking a large part of the way, takes them down a rather unfortunate road.

They are offered a lift by a – wait for it – sexually confused trucker. We’re not done with you yet – this trucker is also carrying a load of coffins! Fortunately for viewers and critics alike, the movie takes a sharp left turn away from predictable by, in fact, not casting the sexually confused trucker with a pile of coffins as the bad guy. The real baddies, it turns out, are the bunch of vampires in the abandoned junkyard the trio comes across after a few strokes of bad luck.

We’ll leave the story there so we don’t spoil things for you. But seriously, the scriptwriter (who was also the director, one Mark Bessenger) needs an awful lot of gold stars for coming up with this totally originally storyline with so many twists and turns, it’s almost a relief when the credits roll. It’s that much of a rollercoaster, but it really is worth a gander.

The movie’s clear originality and slick production earned it a high rating. It’s also won a bunch of credible awards, including one from the well-regarded ‘QFest’. Bite Marks is a total feast of nonsense fare, well produced, originally conceived, and definitely worth a look.

Bite Marks can now immediately be streamed direct from Enjoy this ad-free feast from Africa’s LGBTQI VOD leader!
