I don’t think that it is avoidable that LGBTQ+ issues will be politicized. It’s a human rights issue. I could never vote for the ACDP solely because of its policy on these rights. It’s a non-starter. LGBTQ+ rights were central to Harvey Milk’s politics and rightly so. It is also a quite an important factor in USA politics today. I think that it is an important consideration in electing officials based on how they treat the most vulnerable in society.
