Well said. So much lost in translation. Let the pastor refer to the original teachings of Jesus in Aramaic; where Sodom and Gomorrah are described as epitomes of extreme wickedness, greed, and lack of hospitality, ultimately destroyed by divine judgment.

sadly nobody will ever know its real context. its translations upon translations and versions edited with certain biases in place to align with that reader’s views and intentions.
and there’s fact that it is a fairytale that has corrupted so many around the world and polluted politics and destroyed lives and countries and on its way to destroy the world. Organized ‘religion’ will be the end of humanity.

Perhaps you should read the real KJV bible instead of a comic book. Perhaps you should read the Bible in its proper context

Romans 2:1-5 ESV
[1] Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. [2] We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. [3] Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? [4] Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? [5] But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

And he should consider this verse:

And then he should take note of this teaching of Jesus:

Matthew 7:2-5 ESV
[2] For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. [3] Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? [4] Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? [5] You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Perhaps the Pastor should focus on the Good News and leave the condemnation to God.
