This again ..... Oh God, does anyone really care about this? So what if he is gay or not. Why does that all of a sudden over shadow the fact that he is an excellent singer. He is a singer PERIOD.
And me thinks queer-as-a-rubber-chisel Clay Aiken is a tad bit jealous judging from his catty remarks. Has Clay ever heard himself sing? Sounds like a cat being dragged through a thorn bush backwards!

In reply to Madame X.

This again ..... I guess it only matters because Lambert had to wait until after his Idol bid to make the announcement. In truth, to have made the announcement before would have likely affected his chances to get as far as he did. Remember this is the country that still fights for (Christian) prayer in school, that still bombs abortion clinics (as recent as last week), and has political organisations spending hundred of millions of dollars to prevent gay marriage. This doesn't mean that Lambert is less "brave" for waiting. It just means that even he knew the consequences of disclosure and that's a really sad comment on our society __ not just in the US, but here in South Africa, too.

..... Jamie you are so right in saying that if he had come out before then his chances would've been affected even more, I totally get that. But now it seems that that is all everyone is focusing on. If he is gay then so what? And if he isn't so what? I just fail to understand why it has become such a huge issue. The guy is a excellent singer and performer and his sexuality shouldn't even come into question. Is the sexuality of the winner being questioned? No. Just because the winner has done missionary work and is the clean-cut image that Americans aspire to everyone presumes he is straight. Here is Adam who expresses individuality and questions are automatically raised about his sexuality. I just don't get it.
