i have to disagree with your view that other places dont have a bigger gay base. bloem has a huge gay base and so does port elizabeth. knysna has a very small gay base but i think the reason why cape town did not want to host this event, is perhaps financial. it seems that the organizers wanted cape town to give everything for free. why???? if the anc was made to pay for its 103rd birthday celebrations why should the organizers of this pageant not pay. just a thought.

We seriously need more international exposure to other cities too. Cape Town and Johannesburg is not the only cities in SA you know. We’ve got Bloemfontein, Pretoria, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Nelspruit… Surely one of those have “qualifying areas” too. I don’t think FIFA would have hosted the world cup here if those cities didn’t qualify.
