In a world that often celebrates youth, older LGBTQ+ people can too easily be overlooked. Yet they are the pioneers who fought for the rights, visibility and freedoms that many enjoy today.
Amsterdam’s vibrant community of “pink seniors” took centre stage on Thursday, 30 July 2026, as hundreds gathered at Nieuwmarkt for the WorldPride Seniors Pride Concert.
The free outdoor event welcomed older LGBTQ+ people, along with their families, friends and supporters of all ages, for an afternoon of live music, classic hits, colourful performances and joyful celebration.
More than just a concert, the event honoured the trailblazers who paved the way for today’s Pride movement, creating space to share memories, strengthen community bonds and celebrate generations of resilience, love and activism.
