25 year old Mark Feehily, singer with popular Irish boyband, Westlife, has come out as gay. He made the confession to the Sun newspaper, saying “I want people to know the truth about my sexuality. I am gay and I’m very proud of who I am. I’m not asking for any sympathy, or to be a role model to anyone else.”
The handsome star denied that he had tried to hide his sexuality before, saying that he is a very private person, but felt that the time is right to reveal the truth to the public.
In the report, Mark also reveals that he is in a relationship with former boyband singer, Kevin McDaid, who was part of the group V. “I would like to say that I’m happy, and that I’ve found someone who is a real companion”, he added.
Westlife have had 12 UK number ones since 1999. A new album is in the works, and is scheduled for release in October.
