It’s often called ‘the beautiful game’ – probably because of the skill and talent involved in its playing. But, for many connoisseurs of the human male, soccer also presents an opportunity to experience a different kind of beauty; that of the fine form of the men who play the game.
Even if you don’t know a midfielder from a forward, the 2006 World Cup is a unique chance to admire some of the most stunning sportsmen the world has to offer. To facilitate the rigorous and exhausting task of scrutinising the 32 teams taking part, we’ve done all the hard work for you: We’re pleased to present the 15 most beautiful men of the 2006 World Cup.
The sexiest team accolade must go to the searingly intense Italians, who boast four entries on our list. Portugal and England also get an honourable mention for their sexy squad. Sadly, with only five teams in the tournament, some of Africa’s soccer men came close (especially the team from Angola), but didn’t quite make the list (a lack of good publicity photos doesn’t help). Hidetoshi Nakata. Finally, an enticing and informative article about the world cup, telling people what they really need to know. But you have left a glaring omission in the form of Japan’s Hidetoshi Nakata. This man is possibly the most attractive in Asia and a very convicing reason to hope, against all probability, that Japan goes further than the first round.
