SINGER GETS INTERDICT

Singer Jurie Els has gotten an urgent interdict against two magazines that were planning on revealing the name of the man accused by pop star Robbie Klay of sexual abuse.

Earlier this week, South African singer and actor Robbie Klay told the Beeld newspaper that he was abused by an older well-known male celebrity in his youth.

The 21 year old, who at first refused to identify his alleged abuser, whom he referred to as “the uncle,” apparently told Huisgenoot and You magazines the man’s name.

The magazines were planning on publishing the Afrikaans singer’s name, but an urgent interdict on Wednesday night stopped them from doing so.

The magazines claim that after two other accusers came forward, they felt it in the public interest to publish his identity.

Klay claims that he and the man engaged in “oral sex, masturbation up to three times a day, pornography and nude photographs” for over seven years from the age of ten.

The applicant for the interdict was listed as Christiaan Jurie Els, reports Die Burger newspaper. Huisgenoot and You will apparently publish the article but will omit the accused man’s name.

    1. Actually no. Getting an interdict doesn’t prove guilt in any way. The only thing that you can say with some certainty is that Jurie Els has some reason to keep the accused’s name secret.

Did you think that another possibility is that Jurie might be protecting the identiy of somebody else at the expense of his own reputation? I’m sure with a bit of thought, some other possible explanations could be found too.

I’m not saying that he’s not guilty either but just don’t be so quick to jump to conclusions. Many conflicts in this world have been started needlessly in that way.
