MANHUNT SLAMMED FOR SUPPORTING MCCAIN

The founder of the popular US-based Manhunt gay dating website has been slammed for donating money to the Republican presidential candidate, John McCain.

Jonathan Crutchley reportedly contributed $2300 to the McCain camp; the highest individual donation to a candidate allowed.

Manhunt is one of the largest gay dating sites in the US and commentators expressed surprise that Crutchley would support McCain as opposed to the more gay-friendly Democratic Party candidate Barack Obama.

Online reports claim that some Manhunt members have cancelled their accounts in protest against the donation. The website issued a response to e-mail queries on the matter, which stated:

“The subject that you have brought to our attention is a personal matter and is not representative of MANHUNT.”

It has been estimated that Manhunt earns in the region of $2.4 million a month through subscriptions to the site, excluding advertising revenue.
