Ricky Martin becomes a daddy

Yes, we all wish he could be our very own ‘daddy’, but it came as a surprise to hear that hunky singer Ricky Martin who, according to his hairdresser, is a bona fide gay, has become a daddy to twin boys. Then we learnt that his offspring were born via a surrogate mother. Ricky’s people issued a statement this week announcing the happy news: “The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care. Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children.” Aww, we wish the new family all the best.

Will Young to release new album – finally

Openly gay crooner Will Young is finally releasing a new album after a three year break, titled Let It Go; a mix of disco, soul, funk and even orchestral chamber pop. The first single Changes has been described as one of Will’s most personal songs. “Writing about the changes I needed to make actually helped me get out of a situation where I felt trapped by my own actions. That really is song writing as therapy,” the singer wrote on his website.

What’s the story with Jodie Foster?

Confusion surrounds the fate of Jodie Foster’s relationship with long time partner of 14 years Cydney Bernard. The two were said to be splitting after it was claimed that Jodie had cheated on Cydney. The couple were however spotted together this week in Tokyo to promote Jodie’s film Nim’s Island leading to rumours that the two were trying to reconcile. There may be good reason for Jodie to stay put: It’s been claimed by the National Enquirer that she would have to cough up something in the region of $25 million in alimony if they were to go their separate ways. The figure represents half of what Jodie earned while they were together. Who knew straying from your partner could cost quite so much!

Ellen and Portia’s wedding pics published

You’ve probably heard that Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi tied the knot last weekend at their LA home in front of around 20 guests. The couple secured a deal to sell their wedding pics exclusively to America’s People magazine, which published the romantic photos this week. The gals looked positively radiant.”What can I say? I’m the luckiest girl in the world,” DeGeneres told the magazine in an interview. “She’s officially off the market. No one else gets her. And now she’ll cook and clean for me.” De Rossi went on to add: “The love we felt from the people surrounding us, and the love we have for each other, made this the most beautiful and emotional day.” Bless!

Is Brian McFaddenn a homophobe?

You may remember Brian McFadden from the band Westlife. Well the singer is in hot water over some comments he made about men wearing pink. During a radio interview in New Zealand Brian said: “Saying pink is a form of red is the same as saying homosexual is a form of male… In the old days there was no such thing as gay. It was frowned upon, the church would burn you at the stake. Modern day, if you are not gay, a man should not be wearing pink.” Bryan, who’s former band mate Mark Feehily came out as gay in 2005, has now issued a statement saying that it was all in jest. “To come to the conclusion that I am homophobic from these sentences is far from the truth. Some of my friends and colleagues are gay and if I was truly homophobic then I have picked the wrong industry.”

Janice Dickinson returns with a gay model

The self-proclaimed ‘world’s first supermodel’ Janice Dickinson will be returning to US television screens for another season of her Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency reality show at the end of the month. Always sure to surround herself with hordes of drop dead gorgeous male specimens, the celebrity has added a gorgeous new model to her posse. He’s named Martin and is hearing impaired, blonde and gay (yes, that’s him in the picture). Returning to the show is model J.P. Calderon who is also gay. This season Janice will reportedly move in with the models. We’re looking forward to this one.

Annie Lennox recovers from surgery

Diva Annie Lennox is recovering after serious spinal surgery. The singer, who was in Mexico City for the recent international Aids conference, said that her back suddenly went into spasm at her hotel. She had to cut back on appearances at the conference and fly back to the UK for medical attention. The 53 year old Annie added that she felt a bit like Elizabeth Taylor!” A statement from her management said that “The surgery went as planned, and Annie is now recuperating at home. Annie would like to send her thanks and appreciation to all that have sent their well wishes in the past few days.” Get better, little bird!
